What a Carbon Footprint Is How much carbon we contribute in our lives It is affected by everyday things 40% of the US energy consumption is from coal, which is highly pollutant Appliances such as microwaves, TVs, ovens, toasters, and cell phone chargers all need power

What can be Reduced Replace light bulbs Insulate attic and walls Perform Maintenance on cars Unplug appliances not in use Use energy star rated products Plant trees Turn down home heating and cooling 1-3˚

Benefits Tax credits available Less CO2 in the atmosphere Wildlife preserved It can have various health benefits according to the WHO(World Health Organization)

Costs Expensive initial costs Energy Star products are more expensive Installation of more complex appliances can cost more
