10 DIGITISATION OF IMAGES Digitisation was outsourced –Time and cost saving 50 images returned in Photo CD format –Mixture of text and pictures

11 USING PHOTO CD Photo CD –Digitising from a 35mm neg. surrogate –A cheap option –Not archival quality (Lossy) –Works well for photographs (SCRAN) –Difficult to capture fine detail

14 PROPOSED METADATA SOLUTION Master record created in MARC using CORC Export MARC records into library catalogue Export Dublin Core RDF records into a tailor made database on council website, alongside images
