2 WHERE IS ORLANDO? Orlando is in the central region of the U.S. state of Florida. It is the county seat of Orange County, and the center of the Greater Orlando metropolitan area. The city had a population of 238,300. Orlando is the 79th largest city in the United States.

3 WEATHER IN ORLANDO Orlando has a subtropical weather. There are two major seasons each year. One is hot and rainy, lasting from May until late September (roughly coinciding with the Atlantic hurricane season). The other is the dry, relatively cool season (late October through April) bringing less frequent rainfall, yet still with warm temperatures.

4 MAIN PLACES TO VISIT (MONUMENTS) The art museum, the Orlando city hall, the bank of America, the skyscraper of SanTrust Center, the Harry P. Leu Gardens, the museum of de N.A.S.A, or the different churchs of the city, are one of the reason for visit this wonderfull city!

5 OTHER INTERESTING PLACES TO VISIT (THEME PARKS) One of the main thing that Orland have is the theme parks. There are many theme parks: Universal’s Island of Adventures, Universal Studios, SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Disney Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Epcot.

6 THE HISTORY OF ORLANDO Pre-European history Before European settlers arrived in 1536, Orlando was sparsely populated by the Creek and other Native American tribes. There are very few archaeological sites in the area today, except for the ruins of Fort Gatlin along the shores of modern-day Lake Gatlin south of downtown Orlando.

7 THE HISTORY OF ORLANDO Prior to being known by its current name, Orlando was known as Jernigan. This originates from the first permanent settler, Aaron Jernigan, a cattleman who acquired land along Lake Holden by the terms of the Armed Occupation Act of 1842. City officials and local legend say the name Orlando originated from a soldier named Orlando Reeves who died in 1835 during a supposed attack by Native Americans in the area during the Second Seminole War

8 TYPICAL FOODS AND DRINKS OF ORLANDO The city of Orlando has managed to assemble from the asiatic food to the caribean food. In the next page there are some examples of typical food and drink of the Orlando City.

9 TYPICAL FOODS AND DRINKS OF ORLANDO DIM SUM: Fried stuffed rolls with fruits, meat, egg or algae. Gimbo: A delicious shellfish soup Red BEAN jello: Dessert of gelatine done of red bean, tofu and almond The speciality in drink is the bleeding prepared based on wine and with refreshing chunks of fruit. The other one speciality is the cuban coffe. One of the best coffe in the world. But this is only some examples, there are many differents kind of typical foods in Orlando!

10 FAMOUS CHARACTERS One of the famous team of NBA in the world is from Orlando. The Orlando Magic, with players like Dwight Howard. The central headquarters of the WWE (Wrestling) is in Orlando. This sport is very famous in the world. In Orlando many movies had been filmed, for example Lethal Weapon 3, The Blair Witch Project or Monster. The Studio to film the Wrestling program TNA IMPACT! Is in Orlando.
