3 INTERIM ASSESSMENT Interim assessments are more summative in nature, are given to all students once or twice yearly and is designed by the Office of School Performance in conjunction with HSD Teachers. Interim assessments are very similar to state assessments and include performance tasks. IFAs Definition and Purpose Definition and Purpose: Classroom assessment is used daily and weekly without interfering with instructional time. IFAs are not intended to provide comparison to a boarder group beyond the student. IFAs provide an on- going indication of a student’s performance on a skill or subject. CFA All StudentsCFA CFA s Definition and Purpose: Common formative assessments are periodic assessments collaboratively designed by grade-level teachers and given to all students during each quarter. CFAs math pre and post assessments of essential standards and are similar to state assessments.
