3 Assets = Test Scores! Recent studies in MI & CA show assets positively linked to standardized achievement tests. When we link asset levels to school records, students with more assets have a higher grade point average.

4 Assets & Academic Success 2,000,000 Students Nationally Nine of the 41 assets are empirically linked to academic success. These include: Individual Assets * achievement motivation * school engagement * bonding to school * reading for pleasure

5 Assets & Academic Success Ecological Assets: * caring school climate * parent involvement in schooling * service to others * high expectations * participation in after-school programs
