Hydraulic Elevators How The Hydraulics Work By Caleb Hendrich Josh Lamson Jason Gonzalas (who’s not here)

The Four Components  Tanks  Motor/pump  Valve  Actuator

The Tank  This Holds the liquid used in the system This liquid is usually oil based because:This liquid is usually oil based because:  Non compressible  Self lubricating

Motor/Pump  Constantly puts water into the system  Pressure use for mechanical advantage

Valve  Lets water out of the system.  Keeps the pressure low when open  Increases pressure when closed

Actuator  An actuator is the device that transfers fluid or electrical energy into mechanical energy.

The Elevator  All four Components are present in certain kinds of elevators  These elevators use an hydraulic system to create pressure

How is the Elevator Hydraulic? Press the up and down arrows to work the animation. (will only work in the slide show itself.)

The Components  The Tank Present to hold the OilPresent to hold the Oil  Motor/Pump Pushed oil into the cylinder to lift the elevatorPushed oil into the cylinder to lift the elevator  Valve Let oil out of the system, lowering the elevatorLet oil out of the system, lowering the elevator  Actuator The actuator could be piston because it moves up and down. The actuator could be piston because it moves up and down.
