2 Stretch Marks Stretch marks are caused by tearing the dermis. muscle growth, weight gain, or hormonal changes. Appear everywhere, but most commonly found near fatty areas. Do not pose a health concern and do not interfere with the body’s normal functions.

3 Preventing/Treatment of Stretch Marks Possibilities: Topical Ointments (Cocoa Butter, Vitamin E, or Cantella Asiatica) More Permanent: “Tummy Tuck”, dermabrasion, perscription retinoids, and laser treatments.

4 Keloid Scarring that raises above the skin level Often confused with hypertrophic scars Do not subside (fade away) Can be itchy, painful, or sensitive on any level. Most common on chest, back, shoulders, and earlobes. Most common with darker skin.

5 Prevention/Treatment of Keloidal Scars Surgical removal (though may result in another keloidal scar) Cortisone Injections Laser Silicone Sheets & Freezing Injection & Radiation
