2  Repeat emails on the 15 th of each month  All information will be sent to all returning students, faculty, advisors and parents to ensure notification.  Posters being printed to be posted across campus

3 Pay attention to these critical deadlines:  Check DSU email. Financial Aid, Student Accounts and other service offices are contacting you through your official University email address. Contact the University Help Desk at 302.857.7028 if you are having trouble using or have not activated it.  File your FAFSA. If you did not file your FAFSA by March 15, you are now late and cannot be guaranteed priority processing. To get help, email the Financial Aid office at faid@desu.edu and make an appointment to meet with an advisor. We recommend you do this by April 30. faid@desu.edu

4 Pay attention to these critical deadlines:  Pay outstanding balances. Pay them now.  Pre-register for Fall 2010. Pre-registration begins March 30. To avoid a failure to pre-register fee, register by April 15.  Reserve your room. Apply for housing by May 1.  Enroll in AMS Payment Plan. Do this as early as May 1. Avoid additional fees or being removed from the system. Payment for tuition, fees, housing and meals is due no later than July 15.

5  Pre-registration period ◦ For Fall 2010 classes in order to apply for housing.

6  $50.00 Failure to Pre-Register Fee ◦ Assessed to all returning students that failed to pre-register between March 30 th and April 15 th when the Fall 2010 fees are billed.

7  In-house priority housing assignments deadline. ◦ Last day for students to complete housing application and submit along with the appropriate deposit and/or application fee (if applicable) ◦ Students will need verification of class registration and FAFSA filing confirmation (SAR Report) or financial aid waiver (if student doesn’t file)

8  Letter notifying at-risk students (SAP, AS or AD)  Message: Students have until July 15 th to submit a letter of reinstatement from their Dean to the Office of Records and Registration ◦ Note: Date approved by Deans on March 9 th at Deans Council

9  Report generated in-house of students who have not filed a FAFSA or registered for classes during the pre-registration period. Encourage students to file FAFSA and/or register for Fall 2010 to secure housing.

10  Recruit Back Campaign for fall 2010  Telephone calls, emails, postcards, and/or letters, etc.  (*Non-registered returning students only*) June 1 st – 30th

11  Encourage students to file a FAFSA and/or register for fall 2010 classes to secure housing.  Remind them that all financial obligations or satisfactory payment arrangements with AMS must be in place by July 10 th because they are in jeopardy of being removed from housing and meal assignments for non-payment of registration, housing and meals on July 30 th.

12  Letter: Financial Aid priority processing deadline ◦ If student has not filed a FAFSA nor submitted the necessary paperwork if selected for verification by this date, their financial aid will not be processed by July 10 th. Advised to establish an AMS payment plan to avoid being removed for nonpayment--losing registration, housing and meal assignments.

13  All satisfactory payment arrangements must be in place.

14  Payment Campaign for Fall 2010  Telephone calls and emails  (*All Returning students that are not financially cleared*)

15  Encourage students to satisfy their financial obligations to the University by establishing an AMS payment plan, filing a FAFSA, signing off on loans, and/or submitting supporting documents. Warning: In danger of being removed from housing and meal assignments for non- payment.  Reminder: They need to register for fall 2010 classes to apply for housing for fall 2010. Housing is not guaranteed!

16  Students notified that their housing assignments have been removed.

17  Deletion of housing assignments – Students who were not granted reinstatement of financial aid (SAP), Academic Suspension and Dismissal (AS, AD) will be removed from their housing assignments

18  Deadline for Payment Arrangements ◦ All students who are not cleared financially will be subject to the following procedure:  Deletion of housing and meal assignments only (if applicable)  Charged $150 Nonpayment Fee

19  Students will receive housing and meal purge notification and be informed of the last day to reinstate their housing and meal assignments. Once student has paid the $150 Reinstatement Fee (out of pocket) and met all financial obligations or a satisfactory payment arrangement is in place, they will be reinstated in their housing and meal assignments.  Web Registration will continue to be available until August 22 nd.

20  Removal for non-payment (Intended for New Freshmen and New Registrants since July 30 th )  Students who are not cleared financially will be removed from housing/meal assignments and courses for non-payment of tuition and fees.  A hold will be placed on the student’s account and a $150 Reinstatement Fee is required to register. Reinstatements will be allowed until September 7 th.

21  Students will receive purge notification and will be informed of the last day to reinstate their courses housing and meal assignments.  New registrations as well as reinstated students must complete add/drop slips for all registration transactions.  Non-Degree students will use the Registration Form for Non-Degree seeking students.  These students will be assessed Late Registration Fee ($50).  Web registration will be turned off.

23  At the close of business, students will not be allowed to be reinstated into classes and/or housing or initiate new registration. Adding classes will not be permitted without special permission from the dean.  Faculty & Staff will receive notification to submit Documentation for Non-Attendance rosters between September 7 th and September 10 th at 4:30pm.

24  End of submission of Documentation for Non-Attendance rosters.  Financial Aid will lock enrollment.

25  At the close of business, submission of rosters will end. The process will be run to remove registration of students reported on the Documentation for Non-Attendance rosters.  When Financial Aid lock enrollment, grant aid disbursement is calculated per student’s enrollment status.

26  Financial Aid will begin disbursement of funds. ◦ Note: Tentative date
