2 I.Why Apostle Paul emphasized the phrase- Love never fails 1 Corinthians 13:13 “And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity(love).” I.Why Apostle Paul emphasized the phrase- Love never fails 1 Corinthians 13:13 “And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity(love).”

3 II. The basic understanding of Jesus’ phrase helps you learn how to love your neighbor. Matthew 5:45- “That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.” Sun and rain illustrate “ the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us (Romans 5:5).” II. 4 Jesus teaches about the law of love (Matthew 5:43- 44) -Pharisees followed Moses instead of God’s love: Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. -Jesus’ new teaching: But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; -Just follow Jesus’ command. 6 IV. Love Comes from God Dear friends, we should love each other, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has become God’s child and knows God. 1John 4:7(New Century Version) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 7 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 4:10 KJV Real love isn’t our love for God, but his love for us. God sent his Son to be the sacrifice by which our sins are forgiven. 1 John 4:10 CEV This is what real love is: It is not our love for God; it is God’s love for us.
