In construction, over 28% of all recorded injuries are from falls and this industry has the largest number of falls and historically the largest number of falls from height fatalities. The largest contributing factor to falls from heights in the last 3 years has been the improper use of ladders and working platform (cause of over 55% of falls). Work at Height Regulations 2005 require all employers to put in place suitable arrangements for work at height. Risk Assessment C ourse O verview Falls from height remain one of the major causes of RIDDOR reportable accidents and to help reduce this figure, the Work at Height Regulations (2005) identifies a series of duty holders who have a responsibility for ensuring end user safety. These duty holders are:  Employer Representative  Facilities/Property Manager  Health and Safety Manager  Client/Building Owner  Principal and Sub-Contractor  CDM Coordinator  Architect/Designer Good knowledge with regard to working at height is important in all organizations. The Work at Height Regulations (2005) state that managers must be able to identify what fall protection equipment is found on site and whether the equipment is being used correctly by their workforce. Managers need to have confidence that employees required to work with personal protective equipment are able to use it safely and with minimum supervision. The Safe Work at Height Course has been designed for those who plan, supervise or organize work at height as this course covers the trades and specific working methodology found on today’s daily work operations and projects. The course has been designed with operatives in mind with more time spent using the equipment than in the classroom.
