2 + All teachers are actively involved and engaged in all aspects of instruction. Co-Teaching is defined as two or more teachers (intern(s) and clinical teacher) working together with groups of students… …sharing the planning, organization, delivery and assessment of instruction, as well as the physical space.

5 + Before the Meeting The Clinical Teacher gathers key information about upcoming curriculum projects and activities, other core content, and brings this material to the meeting. The intern brings potential ideas for teaching the content. Co-teachers review student data to help them identify student learning needs.

6 + During the Meeting Using student data, co-teachers discuss the following: What upcoming learning topics will present challenges for the students? How could students be grouped to differentiate for readiness? Which co-teaching strategies should be utilized to teach for understanding? Determine specific responsibilities of each co-teacher for each co-taught lesson.

7 + After the Meeting Intern formalizes planning discussions into lesson plans. Clinical Teacher reviews lesson plans and makes suggestions. Co-Teachers prepare materials for implementing the lesson and finalize strategies for differentiation.
