3 Re-making the Surveying (Cadastral Surveys) Regulations 2005 Draft modifications s.7(1) Classification and accuracy of surveys - adopted the current internal closure accuracy standard for level land and removed the variations based on land characteristics s.11(3) Field Requirements – connection to/placement of survey marks - PM or PCM only, - - additional marks 100m apart, - 45 days for Supplementary AFR lodgement if placement postponed s.15 Report by the licensed surveyor - deleted reference to s.20A Subdivision Act 1988 s.16 Record of having re-established a cadastral boundary - 45 days for RE lodgement at OSGV Schedule 1 Certificate by LS for Abstract of Field Records - reference to s.7(1) in lieu of land characteristics Schedule 2 Certificate by LS for Plan prepared from Survey - reference to s.7(1) in lieu of land characteristics Schedule 4 Record of having Re-established a Cadastral Boundary - revised format containing Schedule 2 Penalty units removed

5 SRBV (Draft) Policy for Approval of Professional Training Agreements Criteria for approval as a supervising surveyor A supervising surveyor must:  be a practising licensed surveyor for at least five years and be engaged in cadastral surveying in Victoria  not have more than two graduate surveyors under his/her supervision in a PTA unless the Board has granted prior consent  have an active field and office role in the training of the graduate surveyor  have a satisfactory audit history for the preceding five years  be suitable to perform the role of a supervising surveyor.

6 SRBV (Draft) Policy for Approval of Professional Training Agreements Gauging suitability as a supervising surveyor The Board will consider the licensed surveyor's:  role/position in the company such that it will ensure the provision of adequate training, and direct supervision of that training for the candidate and/or capacity to provide an alternative method of training (i.e. secondment with a different licensed surveyor) as required  survey audit history as advised by the Office of Surveyor-General Victoria  professional conduct record  current registration in PTA’s with other graduate surveyors  previous performance as a supervising surveyor.
