6 4- Steps to Reduce Major Pests & Diseases  Cultural Practices: Deep ploughing in summer, Crop rotation, Inter cropping, Balanced use of fertilizers, Timely sowing, Use of handhoe to control Weeds.  Mechanical Control: Removal of eggs and larvae, Removal of infested plants, Rogue out the Virus infected plants from the field, Use of light traps and sticky traps.  Biological Control: Conservation of Natural population of predatory bugs, lady bird beetles, spiders, Trichogrammatids, Release of larval parasitoid apanteles, Use of 5% NSKE/Azadirectin, Trichoderma, NPV, Pseudomonas, Beauveria bassiana.  Chemical Control: Seed treatment with Chlorpyripos 20%EC@2.5ml/ kg. seed in endemic areas against white grubs, Safe and judicious use of eco-friendly chemical pesticides 5- Popularisation of IPM Packages by Extention activities.  9- State Government Bio Control laboratories and Agriculture universities are producing Bio-precticides (Trichoderma, Beauveria bassiana and Pseudomonas to popularise their usages.  In State Government and Central Government schemes 50% to 75% limit Subsidy on Bio-pesticides and Eco- friendly pesticides.

7 6(i) Area Expansion Programme of Oilseeds  Diversification of low irrigated wheat area with mustard.  Sunflower cultivation after potato crop specially in Farukhabad and kannouj Dist.  Inter-cropping of oilseeds with sugarcane specially in Moradabad & Barrlie Division 6(ii) Productivity improvement  Increased area under protective irrigation with support of Minor Irrigation Department through borewell with water carrying pipes.  Sprinkler irrigation system on subsidy basis.  Assured supply of Gypsum, sulphur and micro-nutrients.  Use of Bio fertilizer to reduce the cost of cultivation.  Adoption of poly mulch Technology in groundnut.  Use of Bio-Pesticides like Tricoderma and neem based chemical to improve the quality.

8 7- Availability of seeds and other inputs  Total arragement seed for the year 2014-15 from different agencies of U.P. as Toria- 9426 qtl, Rapseed/ Musturd- 13615 qtl and Linseed-161 qtl. Total arrangement of Rizobium Culture- 59.54 lach packet.  Availability of other inputs like Gypsum, Micronutrient, P.P.chemicals Bio-fertilizer, Bio-pestisides, Weedicides, HDPE pipes, Sprinkler system, knap sack sprayers,, farm implements under NMOOP scheme 8- Procurement of Oilseeds NAFED is opened being approached to open the purchase centres in several district of U.P. like Kanpur, Agra and Jhansi Division for procurement of oilseeds. Tree Borne Oilseeds (TBOs) The State Governments may also involve other line Departments/Organizations viz; Department of Forest etc. for plantation of Tree Borne Oilseeds (50 ha. neem and 50 ha.mahua) on the wasteland developed under MM-III of TBOs of NMOOP in Pratapgarh and Sultanpur Distt.
