1 YEAR 7 VISIT TO FRANCE 2015 Thursday 16 July – Saturday 18 July 2015

2 ORGANISATION Trip organiser/leader – Mrs A Galletly 9 group leaders (8-11 pupils per group) 2 coaches Meeting points - 2 staff on duty at all times. Accommodation: pupils will know where group leader room is located.

4 DEPARTURE TIME: 6.30 AM THURSDAY 16 TH JULY 2 coaches, 5 staff per coach Coach company = Bakewell Coaches Parking – please do not park on the bus bay so that coaches have room to turn in to board children. Ferry crossing: Dover – Calais, P&O Ferries

5 DAY 1 – THURSDAY 16 TH JULY Arrive Calais and travel to Arras. 17.00 Guided Tour of Wellington Quarry 18.30 Depart Arras and drive to Centre Européen de Séjour youth hostel, Calais town 20.00 Check-in to accommodation 20.30 Evening meal at CES

8 DAY 2 – FRIDAY 17 TH JULY  Breakfast at hostel  Travel to theme park, Bagatelle  Packed lunch provided by group leader – baguette, crisps, cereal bar, water  Afternoon – Visit to traditional French bakery for tour and demonstration – Boulangerie Le Fourmil  Evening – Shopping centre where children will buy evening meal, explore shops – Cité Europe, 18.00-19.30  10 euro per child to buy evening meal (distributed by group leader)  Return to accommodation

9 DAY 3 – SATURDAY 18 TH JULY  Breakfast at hostel  Pack belongings and board bus  Visit to Boulogne-sur-Mer  Aquarium Nausicaa, one of Europe’s largest aquariums  Boulogne Old Town for picnic (provided) and time to explore.  Ferry Crossing: Calais-Dover P&O Ferries Arrive Home: 21.30 approx

10 RETURN TO SCHOOL… Saturday 18 th July at 9.30PM IF and only IF there is DELAY or we are AHEAD of schedule in coming back you will be contacted through our school text messaging service. It is essential that we have your up-to date mobile ‘phone number… If you received a text from school this morning about this meeting, we have the correct number.

11 MOBILE PHONES These and all other belongings are their own responsibility throughout the visit (and not the school/staff). Charger – 2-pin plug Mobile ‘phones on the school trip – the rules Pupils must store mobile number for group leader in ‘phone to use in emergencies. Provide group leader with phone number so that child can be contacted in an emergency. Phones must be switched to silent in the bus and during visits (as directed by staff). When listening to music, use headphones. All the usual school rules apply. ROAMING CHARGES

12 POCKET MONEY £ sterling for journey to and from Dover. € euros for use in France. 2 purses/wallets - 1 for each currency Remember – all pupils will receive €10 at the Cité Europe shopping centre to buy their evening meal.
