Mission Overview Mission Statement: The BallonSat DJDoppler shall ascend to an altitude of approximately 30km while collecting and storing telemetry in the forms of air density (kg/m 3 ) and sound waves. We will use this data in order to discern a correlation between the change in the characteristics of sound waves (i.e. frequency and amplitude) and the change in air density. In finding this correlation, we will see how these characteristics of sound waves change with air density. –Objective find a correlation between air density and sound waves –What we expect to discover: an increase in frequency a decrease in volume as air density decreases. –Why we are doing this mission: to gain data on the behavior of sound waves at high altitude gain understanding of how radios in high altitude aircraft could be improved
