3 01 Introduction

4 01 Introduction Cyclists and other vulnerable road users are overrepresented in collisions with heavy goods vehicles (HGVs). In recent years in London, over half of all cycle fatalities have involved an HGV. Many of these are construction vehicles There has been a strong media interest in this issue. A report into construction sector activities found a number of failings in the way the industry regarded work related road safety and identified a number of actions. CLOCS aims to fundamentally change the way the construction industry manages work related road risk. Looking out for vulnerable road users
