2 What are the dangers of stereotyping?  Lead to gossip and bullying  Reputations can be ruined or tarnished  Lower self-esteem  Stereotypes can “stick” to people  Can you think of any other reasons?

6 The Lifeboat Yes, we saved 8 people based upon their “label”.  How is this activity different than “The Apprentice” activity we did at the beginning of our unit?  What are the dangers of The Lifeboat activity? YOU  How would you feel if YOU were one of the people and someone had to pick and choose you only because of the label they gave you?  Labels, stereotyping, and prejudices can have hurtful and very harmful consequences.

In 1992, Stella Liebeck spilled scalding McDonald's coffee in her lap and later sued the company, attracting a flood of negative attention. It turns out there was more to the story.
