Sida 7 Long standing racism can impact generations of a group or community (1/2)  Racism can prevent members of certain groups from feeling like equal and valued members of society.  Racism can prevent people from having equal opportunities to better their lives and could be a primary reason for higher levels of unemployment and under employment among racialized groups. 8. Long standing racism can impact generations of a group or community (2/2)  Racism can isolate and exclude people, creating resentment and mistrust of others. And prevent groups and communities from interacting with each other and can increase discomfort, fear and resentment.  Racism can result in ongoing psychological stress and anxiety, which can have an impact on work, family life and overall health and well being.
