4 CNH | California-Nevada-Hawaii Key Club District District Education Student-led community service club for elementary students Motto: We Build Core Values: Caring, Leadership, Inclusiveness, Character Building Pledge: "As a K-Kid, I promise to serve my neighborhood and my school. I will show respect toward my environment and I will try to make the world a better place in which to live."

Students work with their classroom teacher and establish goals to improve behavior, peer relationships, attendance, or schoolwork

8 CNH | California-Nevada-Hawaii Key Club District District Education Bring Up Grades A program designed to provide recognition to students who raise their grades into an acceptable range, and maintain or continue to raise them from one grading period to the next Recognition items have “bug” theme

9 CNH | California-Nevada-Hawaii Key Club District District Education Builders Club is the largest service organization for middle school and junior high students More than 45,000 members worldwide Motto: Building Leaders Objectives, Vision, Mission, and Core Values are the same as K-Kids.

Members identify problems within their community and try to fix them through service projects, fundraisers, food/clothes drives, etc. Have very similar service projects and fundraisers to K-Kids Participate with global charities such as March of Dimes, UNICEF, Eliminate, etc.

Helps recruit more members to join Key Club after middle school and improve Kiwanis Family relations.

14 CNH | California-Nevada-Hawaii Key Club District District Education CNH KIWIN’S CNH KIWIN’S is the 32 nd District of Key Club International. It is the only district that co-exist in the same geographic area of another district (CNH Key Club) Daughters of Past Kiwanis District Governor Sid Smith wanted to join a service organization. However, since Key Club was an all-male club at the time, Smith charter an all-female club called Keyettes The name was eventually changed to Keywannattes and then finally to KIWIN’S

15 CNH | California-Nevada-Hawaii Key Club District District Education Circle K is an international collegiate service organization sponsored by Kiwanis International, with over 13,000 members In the Cal-Nev-Ha District of CKI, there are over 3,000 members from over 60 community colleges, private schools, universities, and state colleges

Like Key Club, Circle K members perform a wide variety of services Fundraise for preferred charities such as March of Dimes, Children’s Miracle Network, and UNICEF STUFH (Students Teaming Up to Fighting Hunger) Kiwanis One Day Key to College Tutoring children Volunteering at soup kitchens Helping at animals shelters

Invite your faculty advisors to your board and club meetings so that he/she could be updated on what the club is doing and how he/she could assist in any way Communicate with your faculty advisor at least two times a month Try to get your faculty advisor engaged in your Key Club and make sure he/she understands what Key Club is and what do we do.

26 7/1/201526 CNH | California-Nevada-Hawaii Key Club District District Education Kiwanis Advisors A Kiwanis Advisor is the liaison between Key Club and the sponsoring Kiwanis Club Reach out when your club needs help with chaperones, getting forms signed, District event registration, money handling, and Kiwanis to Key Club relations Contact your Kiwanis Advisor at least twice per month to make sure that they are updated

27 7/1/201527 CNH | California-Nevada-Hawaii Key Club District District Education How to get involved with the Kiwanis Family Identify all the Kiwanis Family branches within your sponsoring Kiwanis Family Reach out to the officers of the Kiwanis Club, Circle K, Builders Club, etc. Attend their meetings and Division Council Meetings (DCMs) Don’t forget to introduce yourself! Invite them to your events (service projects, fundraisers, etc.) Collaborate with other Kiwanis Family branches to have interclub events

29 7/1/201529 CNH | California-Nevada-Hawaii Key Club District District Education How to get involved with KIWIN’S Some school have both KIWIN’S and Cal-Nev-Ha Key Clubs Instead of promoting rivalry and competition - celebrate the Kiwanis Family! Collaborate with KIWIN’S during Key Club Week Have a fundraising competition to see which branch can fundraise more money during Eliminate Week Make sure to have permission and fill out any forms to make these interclub events happen!

30 7/1/201530 CNH | California-Nevada-Hawaii Key Club District District Education How to get involved with Circle K Some Kiwanis Clubs in the CNH District sponsor both Key Club and Circle K Consider a mentoring program between both Key Club and Circle K where Circle K members give advice about high school, college applications, personal statements, homework help, etc. Invite Circle K members to your Key Club meetings or visit their Circle K meetings Request your local Circle K club to host a Key to College event if they don’t have one already Kiwanis One Day!

Provide club updates or report for your Kiwanis Club so that they are updated with what’s happening at your Key Club Set up mentoring program between Key Clubbers and Kiwanis Family members

The Kiwanis Family is what makes Key Club so unique compared to other service organizations around the world. It creates a stronger bond and relationship between Key Clubs and Kiwanis Family branches It enhances your Key Club experience It allows you to work with your public speaking, how you interact with different age groups, professionalism, etc. It could be your HOME away from HOME. Each Kiwanis Family branch is important and we rely on each other in order to become successful altogether. Your Kiwanis Family relations are recorded on your club’s MRF
