2 Project Goal Computer control of a line following robot to: 1. Explore a rectangular maze one step at a time 2. Solve for a short path through the maze 3. Run the robot along that short route Robot can: 1. Move forward one cell 2. Turn left or right by 90 o 3. Look locally for available paths

5 Maze Assumptions Only two ‘dead ends’: – bottom left (start) and top right (end) Multiple paths from start to end

6 Competitive Scoring Search: – can spend as much time as you want – cost is 1 point per forward move Analysis and run: – the robot must traverse from start to end – cost is 4 points per forward move Run-offs on May 4 (final class day)
