3 TRAINING  Monthly workshops for webmasters & content editors (130 people)  Cover all evaluation rules  How to utilize automated software to assess your own website  Retraining when changes in rules necessitate (3 rd iteration) Consistency is Key

4 EDUCATING  Department website as resource  Emails to campus  One-on-one consultations  Open-door policy Consistency is Key

5 EVALUATING  Automated initially  Automated with minor visual inspections  Advent of “Manual Evaluation” – less reliance on automated tool, more emphasis on visual inspection  Established temporary, full time position (2007)  ATI, in 2007, brought focus to this priority Consistency is Key

6 EVALUATING CONT… 2008 – Created a database for managing and evaluating websites…  Stores info on all campus websites  Contact info for content editors and owners  Stores specific evaluation results  Notifies website owners when report is available  Became our communication tool for workshops, new rules, etc. Consistency is Key The Good, the bad and the accessible (website)

7 REPORTING Report to Admin Council (includes Deans, VPs, President)  2004 – 2006 Quarterly  2006 – 2008 Bi-annually  2009 – present Annually Includes a 6-month check-up (preliminary report) to give opportunity to fix errors. Greatest single influencing factor on the overall campus accessibility. 2004 – 33% compliant Present – 92% compliant Consistency is Key
