Setting Up The equipment was moved into place with the expert help of one of the KEK riggers and we managed to get the cryo-cooler running by Thursday. u Vacuum Insulation volume pumped down nicely u VLPC cassette volume tight – no leaks 50 Hz operation, 30 o C, and 77% RH in the Hall slowed the cooldown from what we experienced at Fermilab We finally did make it to 6.2 K on Stage II (v. 5.2 at FNAL) u Operating point of 7.2K obtained with heater power The AFE II electronics was tested. Power supplies, programming, and FPGA read-back stability all looked very good. Good program multiple AFEs without problem. However, we could not get readout via the VLSB boards to work. – Next Hurdle
