2 Copyright © 2004/5 Bolton Institute Colour Processing It is useful to look at how colour is produced so we can make good colour choices Printed media uses the 4 colour print process, spot colour and black and white ( it can use more but lets not confuse the issue) Moiré pattern

4 Copyright © 2004/5 Bolton Institute The Web Palette Indexed colour is another option and predominately referred to as the web based colour palette, normally distinguishable from the slightly pixelly nature. The reason for this is the 256 web safe colours

5 Copyright © 2004/5 Bolton Institute Colour and the emotive Layout is useful and we will look at this later but colour is more important It can convey emotion, lead us and tell us a lot about something without reading anything It give the impression of depth, which can be quite helpful on a 2 dimensional screen with lots of windows Follow some of the links on the website to look into complementary and contrasting colour
