Paul Ramirez Lower Track: Computer Systems Favorite Teacher: Prof. Dobry Quote: EE rules! Arnold & Me Me

Overview of the Project To build an autonomous robot that will find the cheese in the center of the maze.

Team Goals A working micromouse A cost efficient micromouse A well designed micromouse both internally and externally “A” for the project Gain knowledge and wisdom from current and former micromouse teams and Professor Dobry Be a select team to compete in the micromouse competition Create C code that no man has ever witnessed before!

General discussion of our approach Right turn/left turn micromouse We will work together to: Get a design for the overall micromouse Write a robust code for tracking (solving and mapping?) Design the circuits Create a chassis sufficient enough to hold the circuits together Construct heat sinks that prevent overheating problems

What potential problems we foresee this semester Getting a micromouse that works! Starting and stopping Travels in a straight line (doesn’t hit side walls) Meeting time conflicts, balancing between micromouse and SURFING! DEBUGGING, DEBUGGING, DEBUGGING! Getting our algorithms correct so we can actually move in the maze Not having time to finish the whole project A motor (or two) may sometimes slip Faulty circuit components (SHORT RESISTORS)

What we expect to learn this semester Enhance our knowledge of C programming and circuit design Work effectively and efficiently as a group of aspiring engineers Build our communication skills through presentations That patience is GOOD! Whoosaaaaa!

What our project will DO at the end of the semester. We will have a micromouse that will: Track the maze (well, at least parts of it…) Find it’s well deserved cheese in the center square Frustrate the hell out of us! $#!%!!!

The End Any QUESTIONS? Visit our website at… www2.hawaii.edu/~ramirezp (which is still under heavy construction) MAHALO NUI LOA. EE RULES!!!
