13 The Future of NAVTEQ Maps
Today, everything we do is focused on making our maps the best they can be: We invest and reinvest in our core products For tomorrow, we are building the next generation of map products and services such as: Dynamic Real-time Data Specialised Content Visual Enhancements Real-time - Traffic.com 179 million dollars. Spec cont – truck attributes, speed, business parks, Imagery,3d models.

14 Powering Critical Enterprise Solutions
NAVTEQ data enables enterprise solutions for: Business Intelligence Asset tracking Logistics and routing optimisation Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Mobile GIS solutions Geomarketing applications Work force management (scheduling and optimisation) Call centre management Georeferenced Internet/Extranet applications Insurance Integrated Navigation Within NT’s Business Solutions group our focus is on developing opportunities with our partners for the use our database within core enterprise solutions such as asset tracking, logistics, work force management, geomarketing or call centre applications. We have been successful in many of these areas because many business applications require realistic travel-based data that can only be provided by an accurate navigable databases. These applications are often international and require seamless mapping across international borders – another key strength of NAVTEQ.

15 Superior Detail and Richness
NAVTEQ® maps have up to 204 unique attributes for every road segment and Point of Interest in over 50 categories Access Restrictions Underground Exits Turn Restrictions One-Ways Complex Maneuvers Physical Barriers Vanity Addresses Points of Interest In addition to an accurate road network we offer this. We also have other content such as rivers railways etce etc that you might expect to see in more traditional mapping.

16 Product Superiority — Field Driven Data Capture & Verification
NAVTEQ’s 600 professional geographic analysts: Drive millions of miles annually Use patented tools, technology and proprietary processes Capture and verify road network and location-based content – as a driver or consumer would experience it All vehicles equipped with cameras for video capture Product superiority is defined by the high level of accuracy, the richness of the content and the breadth of database coverage. The key to creating our product is our global network of over 600 field analysts who drive millions of miles annually in order to capture and verify the road network and location based content as a driver or consumer would experience it. Because this road network and content are constantly changing, ongoing visual inspection and updating are essential. Last year we drove nearly 6 million km worldwide (almost 16,500 km per day / approximately 14 million POIs mapped) One of the best kept secrets we have is that through the implementation of new collection tools and software, we have introduced a whole new level of geometry accuracy All of our data collection is now done to a standard of better than 5 meters This is a good thing for any application that is using our data

17 Local Knowledge: A Key Value Add
While driving is the key to building a quality database, local presence is critical to maintaining a quality database With over 139 local offices in over 25 countries, our local presence adds value Regular updating of changing/growing areas Response to customer update requests Phonetic translation localization Local content additions Phonetic - ?? I think this mean we record things clearly – but I’m not sure. Local content – Beware of the reindeer !!!

18 Coverage Around the World
Coverage in 58 countries and counting One global specification 139 offices in 25 countries Approximately 11 million miles of roadway in the NAVTEQ® database Approximately 600 geographic analysts updating and verifying around the world Key point million miles Here’s few slides showing areas we are covering..

Detailed Coverage (DC) Our highest level of specification where all roads* are included, full verification occurs, and our full set of attributes are applied. Theres the element of plate spinning to keep all our coverage current rather than just concentrating on existing coverage. It requires a lot of investment.

27 Where is NAVTEQ data used?
NAVTEQ data underpins many business applications including: GIS Fleet Management Tracking Routing Optimisation Internet / Intranet Maps Routes Where’s my nearest? Geomarketing Call Centres and CRM So for business applications…..You all come from many business areas, you all work with many applications across a broad range of industries. This is also true for NT. Within Business Solutions our focus in on the provision of an accurate navigable street level database that can be used across a broad range of enterprise applications. To simplify things we group applications into these similar classes: GIS – here we refer to applications that are centred on the management of fixed assets. This can include applications as broad as management of utility networks; engineering studies, environmental management, telecom demand modelling, assessment of insurance premiums and crime analysis. Fleet Management – this is a very successful area for NT and includes the management of mobile assets such as vehicles, containers or service engineers. Applications include tracking, routoing and optimisation. These applications are then used in areas such as home deliveries and field service management. Internet / Intranet – the internet has become an essential information portal for both business and consumers. For many people the internet and in particular search engines like Google have become the first place that we go to get information. Maps and routes are an important requirement for todays internet generation. In addition, availability of comprehensive points of interest and geographic searching tools to calculate ‘Where’s My Nearest’ all add considerable value to a user experience. Geomarketing – where should I expand my network of stores? what types of people live within a 20 minute drive time of my store? and how can I best market to them? Simple questions like this are being asked every day throughout businesses all over the World. Questions that can only be answered with up to date and accurate street level mapping. NT has many partners developing both the geomarketing analysis tools as well as collating the relevent census and lifestyle data sets to carry out the analysis. Call Centres & CRM – Call centres are looking for more ways to provide additional benefits to their customers. Applications range from simple where is my nearest strore? Type of question to more advanced services offering for example insurance quoting based on automatic geographic analysis accessed via the call centre operators. Other example include the use of call centres for vehicle breakdown or tracking of stolen vehicles.

28 Where is NAVTEQ data used?
NAVTEQ data is used within many industries including: Transport & Logistics Utilities Telecom Insurance Retail Banking Healthcare Public Safety Local Government Central Government The applications that I have just described are in many cases cross industry. We have partners and end user customers in almost all vertical markets. It would be impossible to list them all here but the key ones where we see most activity are listed. it is not just for navigation!!!!!

29 I just want to finish on our latest data product addition.

30 2.4 meters even a limit for LCVs
