7. 7 CI/KR IP PRIORITIES AND CONCERNS: GUSTAV RECOVERY, ELECTRICAL POWER Electrical Power Restoration is the prime domino for IP recovery Damage assessments could take days, with up to weeks for full recovery Cascading impacts across multiple sectors –Oil & Gas production, processing, and transportation Refineries shut down; unable to run processes, safeties, controls, comms Henry Hub gas terminal on generator power; nominal compression capability LOOP dependent upon restoration of pipeline systems before able to move product/crude through port –Drinking & Waste Water processes –Transportation: Signal and control devices out of service –Communications, IT & SCADA systems –Dams: unable to operate control systems –Health and Human Services, incl hospitals and public safety operations –Critical manufacturing and commercial operations PSAs facilitating coordination between private sector, jurisdictions, and response organization to streamline access to area for assessment and restoration, provision of critical support and resources, and prioritize focus of effort
