Nick Hadley Students L2 hardware, PMCS Monte Carlo, Electron Certification, Jet resolutions, shifts, MC Farm, Calorimeter experts WZ Physics

Nick Hadley DØ Status 890 pb -1 on tape as of Aug. 22, 2005 –Nearly nine times the Run 1 sample –360 pb -1 first six month of this year Efficiency now close to 90% L (best) = 11.8e31 –Less than factor of 2 to go to 20e31 –Goal for run 2 = 4.4 fb -1 (8.5 fb -1 ) by 2009 –470 pb -1 delivered Oct-August, year goal 470 pb -1, we’re ahead as one month to go

2005 Physics Results 42 Physics results approved for conferences –better than existing results –Bs, Bd lifetimes, top xs, WZ xs, searches, inclusive jet cross sections 14 Papers published (4 B, 4 WZ, 2 Higgs, 3 NP, 1 QCD) 12 more papers submitted for publication

Nick Hadley

Bs Delta Gamma Measurement

Nick Hadley

Bs Mixing Projection

Nick Hadley Top Mass vs Luminosity

Nick Hadley Future Maryland effort gradually decreasing Still good physics to do: publish Z rapidity, W mass, student theses… Luminosity goals for 2006: 2.2 fb-1 (1.6 fb-1) for 2007: 4.0 fb-1 (2.3 fb-1) Layer 0, trigger upgrades main physics performance

Nick Hadley Conclusions Maryland DØ group is very productive. Looking forward to exciting Run 2 physics. –Many grad students! Layer 0 and trigger upgrades this fall
