Bonobos Are in Danger Adults are hunted for bush-meat. Infants are trapped for pets, and usually die. This infant lived it’s life in a suitcase after being captured as a pet.

Closest Human Relative Chimps and Bonobos are very similar, sharing the same genus. (Pan troglodytes, Pan paniscus). Bonobos are often overlooked or called pygmy chimps, but infact they are a unique and important species. Both of these species are genetically 98.6% identical to humans.
