6 Clinical Update BMC strategic planning effort moving forward Planning for Physicians’ Organization advancing wRVU’s up 6.3% for AY 2011 compared to AY 2010 (preliminary) Billings up 7.2% for the year, Collections up 6.03% Ambulatory Visits up 3.2% in AY 2011 compared to AY 2010 (preliminary) Access for new patients improving substantially across the outpatient clinical practice Inpatient mortality and Observed/Expected ratio have improved

8 Consultation Survey Results 2011 Sent to all DOM faculty, house staff, mid-levels, surgical faculty, house staff and mid-levels as well as CHCs in late 2010-11 AY 170 respondents, 60% faculty, house staff (37%) and “other (mid-levels)” 3%

9 Consultation Survey Results 2011 Outpatient Mostly Strongly Agree or Agree: – Quality of outpatient consult is high – Clinical question is answered – Follow up plan – Attending input Areas to Improve – Able to get appt in timely manner—somewhat improved from last year, – Patients reporting high level of courtesy – Consultant communication with provider – Consistency Across all Specialties of the Department

13 Proposed Career Development Award Assistance by Sections/DOM Goal: enhance the number of CDA’s in the DOM and the success rate in transitioning to independent funding DOM and Sections will provide funds to support salary of CDA recipients starting 2011-12 subject to the following: – No significant start up funds available – Sum of grant award and DOM/Section funding should comply with stipulation for research time of the award – Recipients must follow a jointly developed career development plan and timeline – Term and conditions of the award should be equivalent to a K award
