2 The method CCA polluted soils -Wood impregnation with arsenic, chromium, cupper -Arsenic is leaching -Clean up is expensive Ochre -Iron oxide -Waste from water treatment -Sorbs arsenic strongly …….but looses sorption capacity with time Mix ochre and soil in situ – Cheap and easy?

3 Status – september 2009 April-August 2009: 4 months on leave -Report on Collstrup site to The Capital Region (Region Hovedstaden) Starting up Fieldwork -Hopefully on Collstrup site -Larger scale Starting up Bachelor Thesis -Labwork

4 Field work Objective: To try the method on a larger scale Finding the right tools for mixing of ochre and soil Monitoring on a larger scale -Pore vater samplers -Geoprobe wells

5 Lab work Objective: To speed up the processes of ochre in soil Artificial watertable -The effect of water logging om ochre -How much arsenic will be released? -Modelling Communitcating vessels
