2 Why University? Develop a well educated person by providing an excellent education:- –Academic curriculum. Independent learner –Personal development. Intra- and extra-curricula Output - Employable and contributes to society Life long learning No student should fail that we enrol

3 The Greenwich undergraduate entrant Wide variety of educational and social backgound(~40% of UoG ug students enter with A levels) Success rate is not as good as it should be Implications for student support, programme design, recruitment and the aspirations, expectations and challenges that we set

4 The external environment Employer dissatisfaction. ‘Job ready’ graduates Government. Productive economic and social outcomes in return for the investment HEIs. Diverse groups of students and we want better outcomes in relation to inputs and available resources Changing world Proposition enhance learning → enhanced success and employability

5 How? Graduate Attributes The proposal Build on the basic skills and foundation attributes learnt in school/college and life to develop the Greenwich Graduate. A common set of graduate attributes (collection of skills, capacities, dispositions and values) that together prepare students for the complexities and demands of life in a diverse and interconnected world.
