3 Science Colleges will: Raise standards of achievement in science, mathematics and ICT Be active partners in a learning society with their local families of schools and their communities, sharing resources and developing and sharing good practice They will develop innovative practice in the delivery of science, providing a model of excellence within the school and across the community Raise the post -16 participation rate in science and mathematics, and provide young people with the skills needed to progress

4 Raising Standards of achievement in Science Develop high quality on line teaching and learning resources accessible to partnership schools through a partnership wide ICT network. Fund a web page designer to work alongside colleagues to develop high quality interactive online resources specifically tailored to meet the needs of the partnership schools

5 Increasing the uptake in science, Post 16

6 Science for Public Understanding Aims to encourage students to take an informed interest in media reports about scientific issues and events encourage students to develop, and be able to express an informed personal point of view on issues concerning science and technology, taking into account technical economic, social and ethical restraints make use of their understanding of science and technology in everyday contexts, and in making decisions about their personal lifestyle,such as those involving the use of energy for transport and in the home, and those about diet and health
