2 space utilization initiative | office of the provost | slide 2 Overview Applies to all Ann Arbor campus units Applies to general purpose classrooms Begins in February 2010 (Fall 2010 planning) Unit plans curriculum schedule RO backfills openings with other classes Unit resumes control of scheduling classroom 8am – noon classes only after RO has finished placing classes

3 space utilization initiative | office of the provost | slide 3 Benefits to Campus Ensures all classes have assigned classrooms for registration Increases selection of classrooms that better suit instructional needs Promotes efficient use of institutional space

4 space utilization initiative | office of the provost | slide 4 Impact to Units Units will need to: Adhere to RO curriculum planning deadlines Maintain classroom characteristics in M-Pathways (e.g. seating count, furniture style, IT/AV equipment) Support faculty from other units

5 space utilization initiative | office of the provost | slide 5 M-Pathways Changes & Help Needed M-Pathways system changes: –Room Characteristics page (FIN) for maintaining classroom characteristics data –New M-Pathways access role(s) for Room Characteristics page Help needed: Coordinate with FIN UL, budget administrator and others in your unit to determine access for Room Characteristics pages (curriculum maintainer, facilities manager, IT staff, others??) Submit M-1 form for those who will maintain Room Characteristics information
