2 Part 1 Description:  In the 1970s, technology became affordable.  Until 20 years later, the equipment designed for language learning were developed.  In the twenty years or so since then, video, audiotape authentic TV etc. have became more widely available teaching aids..

4 Example 1  Other teaching tools: textbooks, and the basic blackboard.  Video is a relatively new option for the language teacher.  One technique is silent viewing. The students view a sequence, for example of a couple checking into a hotel or ordering a meal in a restaurant, and them attempt to generate an appropriate dialogue for the scene. 6 Example 2  Teaching ESL in a non-English speaking country  Keep students in touch with English  First asked students to bring in a recorder and a song;  Second put some blanks in the lyrics on the tape and let them take the copies home try to listen to that song anywhere possible.  Then asked students bring it in in the following week with the blanks filled in.
