The World Wide Web is the (mesh) of millions of hyperlinked pages of text and data that resides on the Internet - it is an overlay of hyperlinks to data (information - hopefully). Concept of Hyperlinks connecting Internet pages first suggested and described by Tim Berners-Lee in 1989. He now directs the World Wide Web Consortium, an open forum of companies and organizations with the mission to lead the Web to its full potential.
