2  Australian football (similar to rugby) is the most popular sport, closely followed by cricket, surprisingly soccer is sixth on the list because of how far it is from other teams. Melbourne also hosts many tennis events such as the Australian open.

3  Melbourne is a key for Australia having sufficient funds. Manufacturing,tourism and a large financial base to start with really helps out with the whole nations economy

4  A large portion of the population is Christian 60%. About 20 % have no religion.

5  Despite the fact that drinking and smoking are huge problems down under the overall life expectancy in Melbourne is a bigger number than ours.

6  Like the United States people in Melbourne rely heavily on cars. Commuter rails and transit systems are popular too.

7  Melbourne is an oceanic climate. In other words it’s sunny and warm, everything we crave right now. Lowest temp ever 27 degrees, we would kill for that temperature right now.
