3 Offer to Business Help with Recruitment 6 month Wage Subsidy »40% for first place »33% for 2 –10 places »25% for 10 + places Maximum salary against which the subsidy can be paid is £14,000 – employer can pay more Training Subsidy –For Jigsaw staff and the business’ existing staff »40% towards the costs of training

4 Eligibility Company must have a base in South Yorkshire Both Large & Small Companies Eligible High Growth Sectors are: –Advanced Manufacturing & Metals, Bioscience, Business, Professional & Financial Services, Creative & Digital Industries, Environmental & Energy Technologies, Engineering, Manufacturing & Materials Individuals must be aged 16+ & live in South Yorkshire

5 The Commitment Business Commitment The business is growing & taking on extra staff The business employs the Jigsaw Trainee on a temporary contract of employment for 6 months Agrees a training plan with the Jigsaw Trainee Contributes to the wage and training costs Runs the Job Interview Guarantee Evaluation (2005) 100% of employers would recommend another company to participate in JIGSAW. 95% reported that they would be willing to recruit another JIGSAW beneficiary. 77% stated that it was likely that they would offer a job to trainee at end of placement.

7 Offer to Individuals 6 Months Temporary Contract of Employment – Salary from £10,500 - £18,000 –average £12,000-£13,000 Induction Programme Interviews arranged with employers Training Practical hands-on experience Job Interview Guarantee EKOS Evaluation Over 90% felt their employment prospects had improved as a direct result of their participation within the scheme. beneficiaries reported that one of the key benefits of JIGSAW has been acquiring job experience.
