2 Background UR - doctorate granting research university IMLS grant 2003-2004 to study faculty work practices Libraries hired an anthropologist Staff learned to use ethnographic methods Didn’t want to stop when project ended

3 User Research at UR Faculty - work-practice study & co-design Undergraduates - various methods Graduate students - work-practice study Expert researchers - work practice study (eXtensible Catalog Project)
