2. © 2010 IBM Corporation Information Management 2 Project Objectives  Provide the following to the Tec Team –Tec Request Activity Tracking Tec Requests are submitted by IBM technical specialist requesting resources and services Capture/classify the request Track request progress through it’s process Provide Tec Request metrics reporting –Inventory Tracking Inventory consists of Hardware – mainly PCs Capture/classify existing inventory Track inventory movement – check-in/check-out (via Barcode) Provide Inventory metrics reporting –Inventory Projection Match Tec Request to Inventory and determine if Inventory can support Tec Request  TWO teams only –This will be a real system. Thus, you will be interacting with the actual users of this system. 4. © 2010 IBM Corporation Information Management 4 Basic Requirements  Inventory Tracking –Ingest new Tec Request –Track Tec Request through project phases –Show current status By Request type By due date –Report Tec Request Metrics By Month By Quarter By Year –Provide for expansion Design should be able to allow for the addition of new types of Tec Requests  Invoice Tracking –Ingest new hardware –Classify Inventory by type –Add new Inventory types –Support Bar coding of inventory objects  Inventory Projection –Notify if inventory is available for new Tec Request

6. © 2010 IBM Corporation Information Management 6 ALL Teams – May request IBM Resources from Tec  IBM Tec Cloud –We will make VMware infrastructure available for the duration of the class –Access from the internet –Will request a server from the IBM Tec Cloud Interface –All Servers will have same configuration  This is an IBM offer to assist students in the class  IT IS NOT a requirement, nor will it affect your grade –Except for the IBM Tec Project, since our objective is to go into production with the application it must be developed on our infrastructure  IBM Tec Visits/Assist –The IBM Tec does real work about one Saturday a month –All members of the CS130 class are welcome to help out in the TEC –Offer is not related to the CS130 class and has NO influence on your grade –Your involvement can go beyond the Spring 2011 quarter
