How is AIVC Organised? aivcfuture.agoria.co.uk Currently organised as a “Hub and Spoke” Structure AIVC Committee is the “Hub” Clubs are the “Spokes” Clubs are: -Active in events … they do things -Passive in organisation terms -Recipients of Committee services

How has 2014/15 been different? aivcfuture.agoria.co.uk Regional Gatherings in East, West and North Clubs have been less passive in defining AIVC future and policy Clubs have been: Meeting each other and helping to define the policies to be voted on at the AIVC AGM Weekend

What do clubs want? Changes to AIVC Weekend / AGM - Conference date window to 1 st March to 31 st August - Choice of Hotel / University / College venues in the Summer - Choice of cheaper accommodation for Conference / AGM - Shorter AGM meeting / more social / less travel / one day aivcfuture.agoria.co.uk More support for regional based activities - Chance to meet and chat with neighbouring clubs - Publicity and development better done by the clubs - Yet another enjoyable social event for the diary - Replace Dev/Publicity with Regional Liaison & Events - Events hosted by clubs rather than AIVC Committee

What do clubs want? Smaller AIVC Committee - Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, News Officer + 1 or 2 more - Publicity and development done at club / region level - Better direct inter-club communications - More involvement by clubs in major decisions aivcfuture.agoria.co.uk Fairer financial voting at AGM for larger clubs - Reduced levy if financial voting strength is reduced - Fairer voting strength if paying most of the bills

AIVC Web Site Needs Updating Content Management, Blogs & More Inflexible - Currently free to AIVC - Folders in ActivityExchange (ivc.org.uk lost) - Flat HTML with FTP updating (old fashioned) - No Content Management System or Blog - Very expensive to retrofit CMS (£3000+) - AE has a restricted user base (mostly IVC) - AE built early 2000s (and still half finished!) - No Plugins, Widgets or modern features - No menu or page management - Social media almost non-existent - Limited scope for future development - From £10 per month for hosting - Very flexible Content Management - Blogs, galleries and lots more built in - 25% of all web sites use WordPress - Millions of users (and lots of developers) - Responsive design out of the box - Thousands of Plugins and Widgets - Easy connection to ActivityExchange - Meetup & social media plugins available - Can connect and embed almost anything! - Massive scope for future development aivcfuture.agoria.co.uk
