8 What do each of these adaptations mean and what is a species example that uses each adaptation?  Hibernation is when an animal goes into a deep sleep to conserve energy during winter months and an organism that hibernates is hedgehog.  Migrations is when an animal will travel long distances in order to escape cold winter temperatures or for mating purposes and an organism that migrates is monarch butterfly and gray whale.  Dormancy is when a plant looses its leaves for the winter in order to conserve energy during the winter months and plants that go dormant are maple, apple, and pecan trees.

10 What is the role of decomposers in a food web?  Recycling nutrients back into the ecosystem.

11 When a company advertises and claims that their product is “green”, what are they claiming? Friendly to the environment. Not harmful to ecosystems. Recyclable products. Plastic should be recycled in order to be ‘Earth Friendly ’
