Activities Conducted 1.Soil analysis since 1957 2.Different programs under taken Village Fertility Index since 2010-11 Soil Health Cards Distributed (since2006-07) : 37.48 lakh Soil Health Improvement Program Distribution of Zinc, Ferrous Sulphate on 50% subsidy in deficient blocks ( 7800 ha) (Zn deficit blocks 175 and Fe deficit blocks 106) Web based Soil Health card software program under development

Activities Conducted  Developing Village Fertility Index under RKVY Science 2010-11  Soil Samples drawn from every 10 ha. cultivable area Samples are analyzed for Major properties (pH, EC,N.P.K.) & Micro Nutrients (Cu, Mn,Zn,Fe)  Village Fertility Index & Micro nutrient Deficiency Status is calculated  Fertilizer recommendation is displayed at Public Places in the concerned village. Total Villages Covered -- 23973(55%)

Strategy to Ensure Timely Service Delivery Capacity building Campaign and Publicity. Technical Support from 4 SAUs. State level Workshop of Private Laboratories Training of the Departmental Staff at block level. Farmers Trainings at Village level. Use of GPS for Sampling. Field Demonstrations.

Strategy to Ensure Timely Service Delivery Infrastructure development GPS to mark exact location of Sampling. Involvement of Registered well equiped Private Labs. Use of Augar for Soil Sampling Software development for S H C Generation.

Strategy to Ensure Timely Service Delivery Soil Sampling Activity Month wise Planning of Village for Sampling Involvement of agencies – Departmental Staff ATMA farmer Groups Agriculture College Students Krishi Vidyan Mandals Self Help Groups Regular monitoring of Sampling Work

Strategy to Ensure Timely Service Delivery Soil Analysis Activity Month wise Plan of Analysis Work. Out Sourcing of Activity Registered well equiped Laboratories from other sectors Agriculture College / Science college Labs KVK Labs. Monitoring of analysis activity by Govt. Labs.

Strategy to Ensure Timely Service Delivery Soil Health Card Distribution Software development to Generate Soil Health Cards. Nutrient Recommendations by SAUs for farmers use. Periodic Plan of SHC Distribution Involvement of Agencies for distribution Departmental Staff School / College students Farmer Groups/ SHGs.

Issues for Consideration Considering geographical area 13 Districts needed additional 3 labs per district. Total 39 additional labs required. Rate per sample Testing Rs. 75.00 needs to be revised to Rs. 275.00 Strengthening of Existing STLs.
