3 Key Terms Water Cycle- movement of water through space and time. –Powered by the SUN and Gravity Evaporation- water turning into vapor or steam from the suns energy Transpiration- moisture released from vegetation Condensation- mixing of dust particles and temperature to form clouds Precipitation- rain, snow, sleet, hail, etc.

4 Additional Terms Runoff- water that is not absorbed into the ground Groundwater- water that is stored below the Earth’s surface Erosion- the weathering (breakdown) of the Earth’s surface Sedimentation- deposits left behind from erosion
