1. The Evolution of Fire Safety Technology using Formulated Pinto Beans as a Firefighting Agent, as Fireproofing Material, and many more Environmentally Safe Products made from formulated Organic Compounds Copyrighted by Earl Wayne Fowler 2008-2009 All Rights Reserved©

2. The inventor of this environmentally safe technology, Earl Wayne Fowler started in the fire industry as a licensed portable “B” technician in early 1980. By 1983, Mr. Fowler was working exclusively with Halon 1301 and 1211 agents and in particular with Halon 2402. In August of 1989, Mr. Fowler discovered how to make a firefighting agent using pinto beans as the primary ingredient. He called the agent Fowlermite™ and EnSaFE™ and filed for a process [utility] patent in December of 1990 and was issued a patent titled, “Fire Extinguishing Compositions Made from Pinto Beans”, in October 1991. The patent was first re-filed as a continuation-in-part application then abandoned in the mid 90’s due to finances and problems dispersing the agent into the fire zone. Mr. Fowler continued to research and develop the fire technology using formulated pinto beans into the 21 st century and continues to this day to invent and develop more uses and patentable products from his environmentally safe pinto bean fire extinguishing technology. He has never revealed his formulations except through patents and has never marketed products from his technology to anyone. Mr. Fowler has tested and offered other persons in the private and public sector this environmentally safe material to test in their own labs and fire pits on their own schedules and dates. In early March 2004 after building a truck mounted firefighting system unit [prototype] he drove the truck all the way to Tyndall Air Force Base in Florida from Albuquerque New Mexico to have the agent tested on JP-8 fuel again. The formulated pinto bean agent called EnSaFE™ was used to a very favorable degree extinguishing fires on a B-52 mock-up engine using the U.S. government’s own equipment. The following pictures show how effective the agent was even without using optimum equipment and formulations. The patents titled; “Portable and Fixed Fire Suppression Systems/using formula #1/UL Listed” and the patent application titled; “Mobile Attack/Crash Skids and Behemoth Fire Suppression Systems/using formula #1” does not require any further research and development and is ready to be turn-key manufactured by manufacturers around the world. The inventor will furnish qualified engineers to help set up manufacturing facilities for this dispersing equipment which does require the agent/equipment to be tested for standardizing with the National Fire Protection Association and Underwriters Laboratories listed and rated for liability and marketing purposes. After viewing the pictures of various tests there will be patented and patentable titles and abstracts shown.

Note the fire fighting agent EnSaFE™ made primarily from pinto beans penetrating the fire zone of the JP-8 three dimensional fires that has the agent being dispersed at the rate of 2-8 pounds per second using modified U.S. Government equipment. Also note that the fire starting propellant being used is the same fire propellant that brought down the World Trade Center buildings.

5. This photo shows the fire fighting team advancing on the three dimensional fire with EnSaFE™, which is formulated pinto bean dry powder, to extinguish the fire. Note the discoloration of the fire zone as the agent penetrates the fire zone. The yellow color indicates a lower fire temp or cooling off of the fire zone. To the layperson’s eye, the agent seems to “absorb” the flames of the fire zone. The next picture [see next slide] shows the fire being completely extinguished with- out any re-lights.

6. A patent for dispersing EnSaFE™ and Fowlermite™ a one of a kind agent is coming in the Spring of 2008 and will cover extinguishing equipment for all A-B-C-D fires. The types of fires to be covered are forest, grass, petroleum, structural, and special hazards. This patentable innovative equipment which will include portable, fixed, and mobile types of equipment that has not changed in 75 years or longer.

7. On April 18, 2007 the inventor filed a patent application called; “Fire Alarm System/ using Fireproofing Material// UL Listed”. This Provisional Patent Pending #60/912,640 has become a patent pending application #12/148,499 in April of 2008. 8. Fire Alarm System/using fireproofing material//UL Listed ABSTRACT This alarm system has a constant source of AC/DC power source from an electrical cable fireproofed [see FIG. 1 & 2] to over 5,000 degrees Fahrenheit, coming off of the main AC supply source between the meter and a DC solenoid cutoff switch [see FIG. 4]. This 12 volt solenoid switch is activated when an alarm, fire sensor [see FIG. 3], and/or a manual over ride is activated. The system can be monitored by others through a computer on the premises or other locations. This alarm system installed with a fireproofed "safe room" to be safe or rescued from and with a constant fireproofed AC power source to operate alarms, safety lights, exhaust fans, and any emergency AC/DC requirements allows the fire zone to be safe to enter with water to fight the fire and give a safe period of time from toxic gases for occupants to safely evacuate the premises. 9. Woodland Fire Suppression System/using formula #3 ABSTRACT This Class A and Class B, special hazard and environmentally safe fire suppression system containing EnSaFE™ is made using a bladder tank [see FIG. 1&2] made from polyethylene and a formed base or floor made from HD polyethylene. This bladder tank has the ability to contain 5,000 gallons of water and 500 gallons of dry powdered [water soluble] pinto beans and sodium lauryl sulfate with total weight between 42,000 to 43,000 pounds. The fire suppression system will have baffles built into the bladder for stabilization and will contain C-4 explosive charges and/or Det-cord located in the base or floor [see FIG. 2]. The fire suppression system will be made airborne from C-130 series or later air transports with cargo parachutes attached to reduce the drop speed to the fire zone. The system is controlled either from the ground or air by wireless electronic controls. The firefighting system contains environmentally safe firefighting slurry/agents. This patent like the others is filed under prior art of #12/148,499

10. Heat Transfer System for Linear Accelerators and Other Water and Oil Cooled Systems/using formula #4 Abstract This is a heat transfer system for a more effective way of cooling linear accelerators, large engines, MRI’s and nuclear reactors that use chill water and/or oil cooling systems. The heat transfer material is made from formulated pinto beans using formula #4. The heat transfer material in powder form is then placed into and around various sizes of copper piping that is then sealed into copper sheeting and covered with a vinyl HD Polyethylene cabinet that is snapped into place for easy maintenance which has an opening at the bottom for AC electrical blower motors to remove the heat from the copper sheathing and transfer the heat to other places. This heat transfer system has many enhanced uses such as removing heat and radiation from nuclear fusion and safely using the heat transfer to heat other areas or to be evacuated into the atmosphere.

11. Portable and Fixed Fire Suppression Systems/using formula #1/UL Listed ABSTRACT These portable and fixed fire suppression systems are made to disperse the environmentally safe firefighting agent called EnSaFE™ formula #1 into the fire zone of all classes of fires such as Class A, B, C, and D. These fixed and/or portable fire suppression systems can be combined with patent application #12/148,499 titled “Fire Alarm System/using fireproofing material/UL Listed” to make a complete environmentally safe system to first; have a fireproofed early warning system with a safe room and second; to have a fire suppression system that is Underwriters Laboratory Listed and National Fire Protection Association standardized and rated. The public water meter fire suppression system for residential and commercial structures will revolutionize the way we fight fires by replacing or reducing the number of large tanker fire trucks. The organic based formulations used in all of these fire suppression systems are not only safe to the environment but eatable and drinkable.

12. Mobile Attack/Crash Skids and Behemoth Fire Suppression Systems/using formula #1 ABSTRACT These mobile skid fire suppression systems that are mounted on attack, crash and behemoth type vehicles are made to disperse the environmentally safe Aqueous Film Forming Foam [AFFF] agent made from water and sodium lauryl sulfate along with the environmentally safe agent called EnSaFE™ formula #1 which will extinguish all type of fires such as Class A, B, C, and D. These mobile fire suppression systems are created to control and suppress fires in forest and woodland/grass areas by attack vehicles and extinguish large or small aircraft fires that involve fuel fires such as JP-8 [Class B fire] with the possibility of metallic fires [Class D fire] or large petroleum fires that are all handled and extinguished by these mobile crash vehicles. All of the very large fires of any type can be extinguished by the mobile behemoth vehicle suppression systems.

13. Fireproofed Doors, Walls, Ceiling, and Roofing Material/UL Listed Abstract Fireproofing material made from formulated pinto beans and sodium lauryl sulfate that is sealed by the manufacturer in various thickness sizes in thin gauge sheets of steel to fireproof, weatherproof, and insulate exterior and interior doors, exterior and interior wall panels, attic and ceiling panels, and roofing panels. The fireproofed doors, walls, ceiling, attic, and roofing panels would have to be UL Listed to meet local, state, and federal fire codes. Installing these panels in residential and commercial structures would be fireproofing the structures or at least preventing the spread of fire from one area to another thus saving lives and property. 14. Environmentally Safe Absorbent Compositions From Pinto Beans Abstract Absorbent material made from various formulations of pinto beans, sodium lauryl sulfate, and sodium bicarbonate. This environmentally safe absorbent material is used on petroleum spills, car wrecks, radioactive waste water, acid spills, toxic chemical spills, bio-medical waste and many other hazardous wastes and spills. This absorbent material can be used for household chemical spills, pet accidents, litter boxes, driveway oil spot clean-ups and other common spills or accidents.

The walls and ceilings on each floor could have contained this fireproofing material also. Fireproofed elevators and communication systems in “safe rooms” may have saved many lives.

18.  In September of 2006 a test was made using a different formula of the agent in a powdered form called EnSaFA™ to fireproof electrical wiring surrounded in a metal conduit pipe. The results were phenomenal, showing the world that there was a way to protect structures not only with environmentally safe fixed systems and wheeled units containing EnSaFE™ but also with fireproofing of the steel girders, walls and AC and DC electrical cable.  We can now protect high rise buildings and residential structures with EnSaFA™ technology. The next photo shows the cut away section of the 10 foot length of 2 inch conduit that was subjected to the heat [up to 6700-6800 degrees Fahrenheit] from an Acetylene torch.

19. The photo below is a cut-away view of the 2-inch conduit showing the fireproofing material EnSaFA™ protecting the AC electrical wiring to over 5,000 degrees Fahrenheit.

20. IN CONCLUSION The Inventor’s Fire Safety Technology PLUS that has evolved since 1989 and the patentable products that have come forth from this technology are astounding. A real revolution in the fire industry is forth coming and a new day is dawning in the way we fight, protect, and warn ourselves of fire danger that makes everything and everyway that was commonly used in the 20th century obsolete. The Inventor may have at least another half dozen patents to join these five that have their Abstracts shown in this presentation. This will mean that this fire safety technology will not only help bring the world together with the several hundred NEW products that manufacturers will have to produce and enhance economies to fight starvation and poverty but also create markets worth several trillion dollars in value.
