2  Alfred Nobel is famous for is creation of dynamite and the “Nobel Prizes”.  He also invented Ballistite which is still used as a rocket fuel.  He also made a gel-like explosive called Gelignite.  He once said “If I have a thousand ideas and only one turns out to be good, I am satisfied”.

4 Alfred Nobel’s brother died and a local newspaper printed Alfred’s farewell by accident and when he saw it he saw very disturbing accusations like; “The merchant of Death is Dead”. Now Alfred was worried about how he would be remembered and he decided to invest 94% of his money into the five Nobel prizes.

6  He inherited his love of engineering and, in particular explosives, from his father.  His father, Immanuel Nobel, was an inventor and engineer.  Alfred Nobel went to the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.

7 His most famous invention This the old version of dynamite that Alfred Nobel invented.

8  He was born on 21 st October 1833 in Stockholm, Sweden.  He died when he was 63 on 10 th December 1896 in Sanremo, Italy.  His brothers were called Ludvig, Emil Oskar and Robert Nobel.  His parents were called Caroline Andrietta Ahlsell and Immanuel Nobel.
