5172 GATOR ROBOTICS Media/Website Team

MAIN OBJECTIVE:  Get our Robot noticed by the public and other robotics teams.  Make people aware that Team 5172 is taking this competition seriously.

WAYS TO DO THIS………….  1. Website-- 5172gators.org  2. Facebook–  3. Twitter—  4. Youtube—  5. Local Newspapers  6. Photos and videos

WEBSITE- 5172GATORS.ORG ADMINISTRATOR: ALISON KAML  1. Every day we will take turns writing a short paragraph summarizing team 5172 progress. I have a calendar schedule made up for you.  2. We can interview people from the build team to get updates on the progress there. At this time either Joseph Hlucny or John Langaas are the ones to talk to about this.  3. If possible someone from the media team should go to Hlucny Repair while the build team is working (See calendar) to get photos or videos.calendar  4. All articles written and photos will need to be emailed to me, Teresa, for review before being submitted. You can also call or text me.

MORE ON WEBSITE BLOGS—  For ideas on writing articles and posting photos or videos please refer to other teams websites. Very good examples are Hawaiian team 359, and the fighting calculators team 2175. www.waialuarobotics.com  Fightingcalculators.org

. FACEBOOK, TWITTER, AND YOUTUBE FFacebook: Good place to post photos and little tidbits of our activity. Also a good place to let people know that we have posted on the website and that they should check it out! TTwitter: A good place to post mini updates to keep our followers informed. Especially useful during road trips and competitions. YYoutube: You can definitely go and check out some things that Steven has posted from last year. Weekly video updates and interviews are two options. ALL matches must be uploaded to Youtube.

1.We need pictures and video clips from throughout the whole season. 2.Build progress- There is a camera available at Hlucny Repair for you to use while out there checking on the progress. All photos/videos must be reviewed by me prior to posting. 3.Pictures of other groups and topics for articles blogs: for example, the drive team practicing, the programming team working, the arena team working on building the arena, etc. 4.Pictures from our competitions—of our robot competing. We will need to video tape every match that we are in. 5.A good idea: make a small album of photos and place it in our pit for all to see at the competitions. Make sure this consists of using SAFE procedure……so that the safety judges can see we used safe practices. Safety goggles on, work area neat and clean…….etc. Photos and Videos

NEWSPAPER ARTICLES More information on this later.

POST SEASON MMedia/website work doesn’t end when the competitions are done. We have much work to do postseason as well, such as covering the 4 th of July, any demonstrations or marketing events that take place. Good to keep updating the website throughout the year.

LETS HAVE A GREAT 2015 SEASON!!! RECYCLE RUSH  Go Team 5172!!!
