President Roosevelt Franklin D. Roosevelt was president from 1913- 1925. He was the 32 nd president of the United States.
Early biography His father, James Roosevelt, and his mother, Sara Ann Delano, were each from wealthy old New York families, both of Dutch and French ancestry. Franklin was their only child. One ancestor, Isaac Roosevelt, had served with the New York militia during the American Revolution. His paternal grandmother, Mary Rebecca Aspinwall, was a first cousin of Elizabeth Monroe, wife of the fifth U.S. President, James Monroe. His maternal grandfather, Warren Delano II was a descendant of Mayflower passengers Richard Warren, Isaac Allerton, Degory Priest, and Francis Cooke. During a period of twelve years in China Franklin made more than a million dollars in the tea trade in Macau, Canton, and Hong Kong. However, upon returning to the United States, he lost it all in the panic of 1857. In 1860, he returned to China and made a fortune in the notorious but highly profitable opium trade, supplying opium-based medication to the U. S. War Department during the American Civil War.

President Franklin Roosevelt had many animals; two Scottish terriers, Meggie, Fala, a germen Sheppard, Majora, a Llewellyn Setter, Winks, a Old English Sheepdog, Tiny, a Great Dane, President and a Bullmastiff named Blaze.

Franklin Roosevelt In August 1921, while the Roosevelt's were vacationing at Campobello Island in New Brunswick, Canada, Roosevelt contracted an illness, which resulted in permanent paralysis from the waist down. For the rest of his life Roosevelt refused to accept that he was permanently paralyzed.
Accomplishments by Franklin Roosevelt He cleaned up Wall Street's abuses with the SEC, created jobs through the TVA, WPA and other public worlds projects, provided an old age security network, aided in ending the depression and brought the US through WWII.
