DC234KL Dust Extraction Adaptor rebuild Reason for change –In 2010 a cordless dust extraction unit was brought to the market. –When connecting the cordless dust extraction unit to the battery of the 36V hammer (DC234KL) a power supply adaptor is needed that is located on the bottom of the unit –This power supply adaptor is included with all the 36V hammers (DC234KL) having datecode 2009 and upward –For units with a datecode before 2009 the two battery covers and the wire harness of the 36V hammer (DC234KL) has to be changed Parts needed: –N020088 (SA WIRE HARNESS,36V ROTO HAMMER) –N020087 (BATTERY COVER 36V DE SET) Background

2. DC234KL Dust Extraction Adaptor rebuild Overview DC234KL with date code before 2009 do not have the adaptor for dust extraction. Adaptor can be added for units build before 2009. Dust Extraction adaptor area Unit with date code < 2009 Unit with date code > 2009

3. DC234KL Dust Extraction Adaptor rebuild Step I Remove the Battery. Turn the unit on it’s side and release the 5 marked screws. Now turn the unit to the opposite side and remove the clamshell.

4. DC234KL Dust Extraction Adaptor rebuild Step II Remove the spring and release button from the clamshell half. Lift the wire harness out of the clamshell.

5. DC234KL Dust Extraction Adaptor rebuild Step III Release the clamshell from the other side. Open the handle cover.

6. DC234KL Dust Extraction Adaptor rebuild Step IV Disconnect the four wires of the wire harness from the switch terminals. Connect the four wires of the new harness to the terminals. 2x

7. DC234KL Dust Extraction Adaptor rebuild Step V Assemble the new clamshell to the main unit and insert the wire harness. Refit the release button and spring. Apply the Dust extraction adaptor in the clamshell (marked area).

8. DC234KL Dust Extraction Adaptor rebuild Step VI Now apply the second clamshell and properly insert the adaptor in the upper clamshell. Finally close the clamshells together and tighten the screws.
