Outline Code Assignment and its purpose Input data and deduction procedure Different version of Source Code Typical consol output Compatibility Issues Future plans

Code Assignment This code RadD deduces the radius parameter (r 0 ) for Odd-Odd and Odd-A nuclei using the even-even radii of Y.A. Akovali [Nuclear Data Sheets, 84 (1998) 1], as input parameters. These radii can be used in the calculation of alpha hindrance factors. The development of this code was assigned to Sukhjeet Singh (Maharishi Markandeshwar University, Mullana-India) and Balraj Singh (McMaster University, Canada) at the 1st Technical Meeting on Improvement of Analysis Codes for NSDD ) held at IAEA during June 11-13, 2014 Purpose

In 1998Ak04 there are total 154 even-even nuclei ( 80≤Z ≤102, 96≤N≤156) for which radius parameter (ro) is calculated and these are : (a)Radii of 144 even-even nuclides with symmetric uncertainties from calculations using Preston’s formula [2], (b) Radii of 07 even-even nuclides from systematics with appropriate uncertainties (radii given in parentheses in ref. [1]), (c) Radii of 02 even-even nuclides with asymmetric uncertainties from Preston’s formula [2], (d)Radius for 01 even-even nuclide (alpha daughter Z=74, N=92) from systematics given without uncertainty. Special Care has been exercised when above two (b-c) types of radii of even-even nuclei are encountered as one of the input parameters in the present calculations and an appropriate warning message will be displayed during the execution of the program Input data-1998Ak04 For asymmetric uncertainties, the large value is considered The nuclide Z=74, N=92 having no. uncertainty listed in 1998AK04 is not considered in main input file (98Ak04.dat) of this code

Deduction procedure : Ref. M.J. Martin, Calculation of radius parameter (r 0 ) for Odd-A and Odd-Odd nuclides (2007). With even–even radius parameters presented in 1998Ak04 and above listed procedure, it is possible to deduce radius parameter for Odd-Odd and Odd-A nuclei lying in the range of 52≤Z ≤ 100 and 55 ≤ N ≤ 152. Odd-Z and Even-N nuclei Even-Z and Odd-N nuclei Method 1: Using unweighted average of neighboring Odd-Even radii Method 2: Using unweighted average of neighboring Even-Odd radii Odd-Z and Odd-N nuclei

First version of RadD -Available with us only! 61 ≤ Z ≤ 99 84 ≤ N ≤ 152 Deduced r 0 for 68 Odd-Z and Even-N nuclei 52 ≤ Z ≤ 100 55 ≤ N ≤ 151 Deduced r 0 for 80 Even-Z and Odd-N nuclei 63 ≤ Z ≤ 99 85 ≤ N ≤ 149 Deduced r 0 for 47 Odd-Z and Odd-N nuclei With first version of this code, we generated 3 tables of radius parameters for Odd-Even, Even-Odd and Odd-Odd nuclei. (available at IAEA website) Table 1 Table 3 Table 2

Terminal Consol Output RadD.For Compiler gfortran or G77 Compiler gfortran or G77 98AK04.IN ELE.IN 98AK04.IN ELE.IN User The 2 nd version of this code deduces the radius parameter for a given nuclide and console output is: Second version of RadD- Available at IAEA website

Compatibility Operating Systems WINDOWS LINUX MAC LINUX MAC 64bit 32bit 64bit RadD.for is working successfully on all the operating systems

Odd-Odd Even-Odd Odd-Even Deduced r o parameter exhibits minima either at major shell closure (at N=126 for odd-even nuclei) or near the vicinity of major close shell (at N=125 for odd-odd and even-odd nuclei) Same as the case for even-even nuclei

FUTURE PLAN 1.Since 1998AK04 is 17 years old compilation and many new data and available for eve-even nuclei. So search on ENSDF and XUNDL files will be made to compile the ro values and that new ro values will be used to update the recently generated tables of ro parameter for odd-odd, odd-A nuclei. (Suggestion by F.Kondev, email: March12, 2015) 2.Updation of 1998AK04: it is a big assignment and is being continued.
