4 BB Program Overview 3 rd -4 th Grade Basketball 3 rd -4 th Grade Basketball –Introduce students to the basics of basketball –Let players find out what it means to be part of a team (commitment, teamwork, strategy, etc.) –All players receive approximately the same playing time –Limit the schedule to one or two events a week (mostly just Saturdays)

5 BB Program Overview 5 th -6 th Grade Basketball 5 th -6 th Grade Basketball –Build on the basics in a more competitive way –Commitment level increases to two practices and one game most weeks. –All players who demonstrate a desire to learn the skills and willingness to listen to their coaches will be given some playing time, but not necessarily equal time. –Tournaments

6 BB Program Overview 7 th -8 th Grade Basketball 7 th -8 th Grade Basketball –Places a greater emphasis on competition and advancing skills. –Continue to have two practices and one game most weeks. –It is the goal still that all players will have a chance to play in each game, but playing time is at the discretion of the coaches. –Tournaments

8 Cheerleading Girls may participate in both cheerleading and basketball. Girls may participate in both cheerleading and basketball. However, this is a huge commitment of time and energy to do both. 9 Code of Conduct for Athletes All practices and games should be attended unless excused, by a parent, prior to the event.
